Seven Tips to Have an Amazing Wedding Cake Tasting
Now that we are in the middle of the engagement season, I have compiled a simple list of tips to ensure you have a great cake tasting experience. If you have anything else to add, please leave a comment below!
Eat a small snack before your cake tasting. Sampling sweet treats with coffee or tea means you'll be on a sugar high in no time. Try to counterbalance this by having something like nuts, cheese, or crackers before you come to your appointment.
Drink water. Especially important at high altitude in Denver, it is imperative to stay hydrated. Bonus points if you drink water before and after.
Allow an hour for us to meet. I don't want you to feel rushed when you're making a decision as important as this one! In my experience, an hour or less is what is needed to sample cake/desserts, chat over details, and come up with a design.
Have an idea of your guest count. One of the questions I ask every client is how many guests they're expecting. Even if you don't have an exact number, a range is needed for planning purposes.
Don't be afraid to ask questions. This will likely be our only time to meet in person before the big day so please do not hesitate to ask questions. As always, if you need anything after our meeting, feel free to send me an email or text.
Bring some photos/color swatches with you. Show me your Pinterest board, too! Other cakes, florals, venue photos, wedding attire, etc. are all helpful for me to get the vibe of what you want.
Have fun! In my humble opinion, this is the best part of planning your wedding! Chatting over sweets and coffee...there are worse things!
If you haven't scheduled a cake tasting with us yet, head over to here to book a spot!
